About the Author

Amy Moudy Comeau, MBA, is an award-winning and acclaimed marketing executive with depth and breadth in health care, non-profit, higher education, and performing arts. As the Vice President of Marketing for Emory Healthcare, she oversees marketing for the most comprehensive academic health care system in Georgia, with three decades of experience telling stories and connecting patients, their families, and caregivers with physicians, nurses, and health care professionals.  

Amy is a graduate of Northwestern University, with an MBA and Beta Gamma Sigma honors from Goizueta Business School at Emory. She lives in a suburb of Atlanta, with her husband Chris and son Josh. Her weekly writing ritual, which began during the pandemic, continues today. 

Excerpt from the opening pages of Every Storm Runs Out of Rain

These were times that tested my leadership. Scared and afraid of this virus all around us. The fear of the unknown, but the need to provide calm and strength for my team.

I neglected self-care during this time—adrenaline and a steady drip of wine kept me going. After all, we thought this was an eight-week, work-from-home blip in time. But it wasn’t. Eight weeks became eight months, then 18 months and ultimately, a three-year moment in time.

This book began as a “Friday end-of-week” email to my team at the start of the pandemic. Part encouragement, part writing therapy and part ship’s log.

I naively thought the pandemic would have a defined start and end, and so would my writing. Now, these Friday emails are here to stay.

As the weeks progressed, my team shared they looked forward to them, and I found I did too.
